Air conditioning service and repair in Tilburg

An air conditioning system loses a little refrigerant every year — that is normal. If the air-con blows lukewarm, topping up only makes sense when there is no leak. So we measure first and look for the cause afterwards.

Air-con refill from € 60 (R134a)

We measure first. If the system holds pressure, we refill for that amount. If we find a leak we stop before refilling and you get a quote for the repair first — refilling a leaking system is money thrown away. Cars running R1234yf are charged differently; we check which refrigerant your car takes.

What we do

Measure first, recharge second

Topping up a system with a leak is postponement: within a season you are back. The system also protects itself — if the quantity drops too far the compressor switches off and the air-con blows lukewarm, even straight after a recharge. So we first find where it is going.

When to come in

Spring is quietest — but we measure all year round

On the first warm day everyone discovers at once that the air-con is not working, and the diary fills instantly. March and April therefore leave more room. Measuring the system and tracing a leak, however, we do all year round — including mid-summer, and that is exactly when you find out fastest whether it is a recharge or a repair.

Use the air-con in winter too

The compressor is lubricated by oil circulating with the refrigerant. Leaving it unused for months dries out the seals and makes the system leak faster. Switching it on briefly once a month is the cheapest prevention there is — and in winter it dries the air, clearing the windows far faster.

Three complaints, three routes

Lukewarm or not cold at all

We measure the charge and the pressure, and look for a leak with contrast dye at the couplings, condenser and compressor seal. We only refill once the system holds.

Musty smell when switched on

That is mould on the evaporator, not the refrigerant. We clean the evaporator and replace the cabin filter; refilling will not fix it.

Water inside the car

Water under the car is normal condensation. Water inside usually means a blocked evaporator tray drain — we clear it before it reaches the carpet.

R134a and R1234yf — we do not guess which goes in

Cars from before roughly 2017 usually run R134a, newer ones R1234yf. The two are not interchangeable and differ sharply in price. We check which refrigerant your car should have and fill that one — no universal mix, no assumption.

That is why the amount is named before refilling and not after: measure, cause, quote, your approval, and only then does anything go into the system.

Frequently asked questions

My air-con no longer cools. Is a recharge enough?

Only if there is no leak. With a leak, topping up is postponement. We first measure how much is in the system and look for the leak where there is a clear shortfall.

There is water under my car after using the air-con.

That is condensation and entirely normal. It only becomes a concern when the water ends up inside the car — then the condensate drain is blocked.

Where does the musty smell come from?

From mould on the evaporator, caused by moisture sitting still. We solve that with a clean and a new cabin filter.

Should I use the air-con in winter?

Yes, briefly once a month. That keeps the seals supple and prevents leaks. It also demists the windows much faster.

What if you find a leak?

Then we stop before refilling and you get a quote for the repair first. Filling a leaking system means paying again a few months later.
